Amana Tool Compression Bits

Amana Tool compression bits combine upcuts and downcuts. The result is a clean top and bottom cut surface.  In order to get clean top and bottom surfaces, you must ensure that your first pass is below the upcut portion of the bit; otherwise, you’ll get results similar to using just an upcut bit. You can extend the life of your bit and ensure that the entire piece is perfectly trimmed on top and bottom by using a ramp in, plunging into the material over a distance instead of all at once, and a lead in, starting outside the design to reach the pass depth, to the cut. Compression bits cut in one pass. As long as the first pass is below the upcut portion of the bit, if your machine is unable to handle that depth of cut, you can cut in multiple passes.
